In 2018 was my first encounter with Matrix Basel and Fabia Zindel, the founder of Matrix. Since this time I got the chance to be part of Matrix in different situations. As an intern, co-worker, selling in the store or printing during the production periods.

For the Matrix collection 2021/2022 I designed in collaboration with Matrix a scarf design. The theme of the collection is „RHEIN“, which is the river running through Basel, the city where Matrix has its home. The rivers source is in the Swiss Mountains and it ends in Holland into the northern sea. Literature, objects on and besides the river, nature and much more includes the inspiration.

During the University, I made an internship at Matrix, a screen-print label, in Basel. Matrix Basel is a label, which creates all their products by hand with local products and suppliers.

I was able to gain experience in research, coloration, pattern design and silkscreen printing

I was part of Matrix by helping to develop the collection 2018/19 assisting during the whole design und printing process.

The wool scarf “Atoyac” with its zigzag design,

the silk-cotton scarf “Catalina”

and the little cotton scarf “Diego”.

With the enriching working environment it was possible for me to create three designs for the 2018/19 collection. All designs were developed in cooperation with Fabia Zindel.
